How to Avoid Scaling in Vacuum Pump


The water quality and operation temperature of circulating water exceed a certain index, which is the main reason for scaling of vacuum pumps. Among the water quality indexes, the hardness of water is the most important factor. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the hardness of water as much as possible and control the working temperature of circulating water in order to solve the problem of scaling of vacuum pumps.
1. Hardness of circulating cooling water
The operation process of circulating water in vacuum pump is very similar to that of pot water in low pressure hot water boiler. Therefore, to manage the water quality of vacuum pump according to the water quality standard of hot water boiler can prevent scaling of vacuum pump and corrosion of vacuum pump.
Vacuum pump circulating water system is mostly open circulating system with high return water rate. In the case of water treatment without ion exchange equipment due to capital and other reasons, a softening pond and a high-level pond are usually used to supply water to the vacuum pump.
2. Temperature Control of Circulating Cooling Water
From the above analysis, it can be seen that the difference between the water ring temperature of vacuum pump and the water temperature of softening pool is an important factor leading to scaling. Therefore, increasing the amount of circulating water supply and improving the cooling effect is an important guarantee to limit the scaling rate.
Therefore, in the process of circulating cooling water operation, it is also necessary to monitor the return water temperature and return water volume of each pump, in order to ensure the normal water supply of each pump and the return water temperature does not exceed the stipulation of 40 C. Water supply can be controlled by valve. If the return water temperature exceeds the stipulation, cold water should be added or other cooling methods should be adopted to reduce the temperature of softening water in the softening pond.
3. Wash pump body regularly
The pump body drainage gate valve of the water ring vacuum pump can not only discharge the accumulated water in the pump normally, but also wash the dirt and slag in the pump regularly by using the water pressure of the pump body during operation. On the one hand, it can prevent the accumulation of dirt, on the other hand, it can also prevent the water slag from turning into scale.
The scaling problem of vacuum pump has its complicated generating mechanism. Correct analysis of water quality index and operation parameters is the key to find out the correct preventive measures. In addition to water temperature control and regular rinsing of the pump body, water treatment is an important link to prevent the scaling of the pump body.
